In 1988, Nail Labo was founded by Yumiko Fujinami.

When the ordinary Japanese housewife saw how nail technicians in the US operated electric drills in their salon, it reminded her of her brother in Japan, who was manufacturing drill handpieces for dentists. Borrowing from tools and materials generally used in dentistry, the world's first original micro-motor handpiece for nails, "Nail Labo,” was designed and introduced at beauty shows and in magazines. All the nail technicians who tried our smooth, ultra-quiet micro-motor could not help but immediately fall in love with its effectiveness and ease-of-use.

In 2009, Nail Labo introduced Presto, the world's first completely LED gel system. With 100% UV-free curing, Presto is the most advanced soak-off system on the market to date.
